Here is a baby katydid, probably a week or so old. Funny looking aren't they?

Here's the hatch. Each time I went back to look there were fewer. Finally, the last one I saw was being dragged under the leaf by a spider.

Philomel, I looked for these pics for awhile after you posted the adult Katydid. I've been seeing some strange katydid/Grasshopper looking creatures around Florida recently. And some of them are voracious. One had stripped half of the leaves from a 4 foot Abutilon. I took pics then went back to 'do it in' but he was gone. Hope it is LONG gone from my property!
