Found this caterpillar out on one of my walks. I believe he'll be a Cloudless Sulpher butterfly. He is on a small Cassia.

He's kinda pretty :) Is it big?
He is pretty isn't he, with the blue and black spots and yellow stripes? Those markings are said to break up his outline against the leaves. This cat was about 2" long or so.
Floridan, I found some of those the other day. They were on the gravel. I relocated them. I've seen the cloudless sulphurs flying around.
Cala, it looks like you'll be seing more of them then! I read the other day that there are over 70 different butterflies that rely *only* on Cassia for their caterpillars. I'll be planting a couple more types this spring. Here's the smaller cassia, not yet IDed. I managed to find 2 ripe seed pods but lots more coming!
