I grow crab apple 'John Downie' for the birds, not expecting the fruit to last long, but i think we have so much in Kent that these will last longer than i expected :)

My crab apple tree didn't fruit this year alas no crab apple jelly. I would like to make some sloe gin but I have never collected any sloes before. This will be a new experience
Does anyone make sloe gin?
