Snail Gourd

(Zone 5a)

I am not sure that's the right name for this gourd but since it does look like a snail, that's what I call it.
I thought about putting a shell on the top and some feelers on the head and put it in between my indoor plants.

Hi Wind, those look great!!!! i've never seen them before! i have several kinds myself, i planted the seeds, wrote what they were on plastic knives then the PERMANENT marker washed off with the rain :( so now i keep looking at this site hoping someone else planted the same seed so i can identify them? it sure is fun watching them grow :)

Unusual to say the least...I hope it gets a name...but Snail Gourds sounds good too. Jo

Could they be the miniature dippers?

I don't know but I think is sort of unusual.

I just saw these, they do look like a snail.. could be a cross between small dipper and something else.. How did the snails turn out? They sure sound cute.

I agree with you they are cute and different.
