Well, for my first trip to the grocery of the month, I spent $53.46 (instead of $100 plus).
I went through my pantry & freezer (which is full of ground beef I bought on sale the last 2 weeks) and made up a menu for the week. My menu was just for dinner meals. I used the coupons I had for items that were already on sale. The only meat I bought were 2 packages of boneless chicken breast that were on sale. I really stuck to my list until I was at the checkout: they had certain candybars 5/$1.00 - needless to say, my bill should've been $50.46 instead!
