For the last few weeks, something has been eating all my tomatoes. I tried fencing it the tomato patch but the fence didn't even looked touched and the tomatoes were still being eaten. I figured it must be deer poking his head over the fence and ended up pushing the top of the fence together and stiching it together filling in the holes with bird netting. Then I placed small bars of soap around the garden (I heard they don't like the smell). I'm not sure what actually workeddid the trick but this week I've finally been able to start enjoying eating my own home grown tomatoes and whatever has been eating them has left them alone.
Meanwhile my neighbor went to show me her priced peach tree. She planted it a year or two ago and this was the first year she had peaches on it. When she went to show them to me there wasn't one peach left, just scattered pits beneathe the tree! I guess the deer got to them as well! Oh well, there's always next year!
Somethings been eating my tomatoes!
You can plant Lavender around the perimiter of your plants that deer like, deer don't seem to like lavender.
Or another method is hanging bars of Irish Spring soap on sticks, they don't like the smell of that either.
Squirrels LOVE peaches. They will strip all the fruit from the tree.
