Today the street is lined with baskets of tomatoes from various gardens. Its wonderful to see people share their produce instead of letting the fruits rot on the vine. I picked up 2-6 quart baskets of Roma tomatoes. Yummy I can just smell the tomato sauce cooking in anticipation. Of course I let the sauce age in the jars for at least 4 months so that the fresh herbs are well distributed throughout the sauce....no wonder my grand daughter won't eat store bought jam or tomatoe sauce...lol.
