Using a suggestion I found on DG's I built these compost bins in the shaded side of the house. Cost- $0 just my labor to get them going. Our soil is VERY sandy, actually it is cheap fill dirt that was used when the house was built. Hopefully, with this compost I will be able to improve the quality of the soil.
The palletts were given to me by my son. The company he works for has to pay to have them hauled away. He brought me enough to build these bins. He also gave me the roll of yellow wire used to "tie" them together. With all the yard clean up and the tree trimmings that just happened, I had enough to start 3 bins. So far so good. And you can't beat the cost.
