Post Office and plants..Grrrrrrrr

I am not a happy bunny. I tried to send plants to Ireland today and Post Office wouldn't accept them "because of Foot and Mouth"
Pointed out MAFF had told me TWICE that this was fine. Thee was then an implication that I was in La La land :o(
Missed last post and had to be firm to get my parcel back. Phoned MAFF again tonight who confirmed that it WAS ok to send the parcel. The maddening thing is there is no F&M in this area.

The Post Office people are pretty dumb these days. My son had a parcel and asked how much it would be to send it to the Republic of Ireland. The girl said 'Is that North or South?'

Head honchos at Post Office confirm this woman totally out of line. They clearly stated that plants can still be sent in Europe...obviously as long as they don't come from an infected farm
