Might be a dumb question but.

Are Grand daddy long leggs good or bad??? I seem to have tons of them this year. They are all over my plants and beds and even in the house! My kids are forever throwing one on me just to hear me holler!! I bet I could go outside and gather up at least 25 or 30 of them in just a matter of a few minutes! and I ain't even joking!!
So I ask you are they good or bad?? What do they eat??

They're a good guy Mollybee,love em' When I first saw one years ago inside my car,I nearly wrecked,lol' They are harmless and a gardeners friend' They eat ants,aphids and really help keep infestations down'

i heard somewhere that daddy long legs were the most poisonous spider on the planet, but because of the shape of the head,the mouth is no way a threat to humans. (dont know if its true or not)
i rate them with lady bugs...think "cool" when i see one. just wish i had more of them.

MSJen, you're correct about them (or at least I've been told the same thing) - they're supposedly the most venemous spider on earth, and I don't know if it's because of their long legs not allowing them to get low enough to bite us, or the tiny size of their jaws, but they're harmless.

I'll tell this story on myself before my mom does: I ate one as a kid. I can still see my mom's shocked expression when she found a leg dangling out of one corner of my mouth. I have no idea why I decided to munch on one (it's not an ongoing thing, lololol.)

Well that is good news for me then, and now that I think about it I really don't have too many aphids this year. So this is a good thing! I really do have tons of them. Its not that I scared of them, but when the one of the boys comes and throws one on me its just automatic that I scream and thrash around trying to get it off of me. They always get a good laugh out of seeing me wiggle lol

mollybee what would you do if you had tarantulas? when it get really hot here they crawl out of thier hole.thier aboutas big as a grapefruit.

O no!! I would really be scared then!!! do you have them there?? poor you!! I don't know if I could stand having those!! Gives me the creepy crawleys!!
