Hey Weezingreens.

Woodsville, NH(Zone 4a)

better get your matador cape out. There's a whole new generation of moose coming. Saw this baby with his mother today in a field when we went on a ride. They are so cute when they are small.

Just saw this post, Snowhermit. Yes, they sure are cute when they are small... so are gorillas. The mama looks a bit lean. We have some real heifers around here... guess they thrive on our gardens! They really seem to prefer the natural greens, but consequently, that young bull stripped many of my beautiful lady fern fronds.

In the cold months, they subsist on bark and young branches. They can strip a young tree in no time with those big old flat teeth of theirs. The alder and willow seem to survive, since they grow so many trunks. Otherwise, an entirely stripped tree trunk means a dead tree.
