I have an 8' tall peegee that I planted last spring while in full bloom. This spring, I pruned the limbs back somewhat and each limb produced 3 or 4 new branches. Now all the new growth is about 4 feet long, ending in HUGE blooms that have become so heavy that they are now touching the ground.
How do I make some kind of support for the branches to get the tree to look more vertical - and less like an umbrella?
Help! Peegee limbs are too heavy!
Garden Supply has ring supports (green) that, when in place, are hard to see. Or a stake in the center of the plant used as a support to tie string, stocking material, thin strips of cloth, etc. Although the stake may do some damage to the roots.
If you do a google search on peegee. then. click on Petes info. alot of good things there. And more a bit farther down on the google site.
