I can't believe it! The mother is one I had my doubts about as to whether she was bred or not! I thought she looked it, but not that far along if so ~ mabye just grass belly, I thought. Nope! It was this gorgeous little bull calf!!! I'm so happy! But I gotta' get used to these skinny Longhorns ~ they're not a bit like the old, fat Red Brangus I'm more familiar with. When a Red Brangus cow was fixing to calve, she would be so big it almost hurt to look at her. Not so here!

I'm still in shock! The man we bought them from said we'd have calves on the ground any day now. I thought he was doing his "used car salesman talk"!!
