Salpiglossis sinuata "Stained Glass"

Ellicott City, MD(Zone 7a)

This beautiful annual hails from Chile. It has been blooming non-stop. Just wish it were a perennial, so I could continue to enjoy it next year (SIGH). I guess that means sowing more seeds for future plants. Good thing that they are easy to grow from seed!

This is my first year growing them. I haven't harvested the seeds before. Hope it is easy. I'll let you know if I'm successful.

Hi Shirley, I grew salpiglossis for the first time this year too, I bought a few plants. You are right they are just beautiful. I have the yellow you pictured and a deep purple, red with yellow veins, and some others, yes I will look for seed too. The veins on these flowers is what makes them so stunning don't you think.
