When and what do you feed clematis? Do you remove the strange pod that forms after the bloom fades?

I'm waiting for someone to answer too. One of the three I have is barley a foot high. Also I planted two Bush clematis, will they bloom this year??

I can help you out with one question. The strange pods are seed pods and sometime are as beautiful and unique as the blooms. If you want seed then don't remove them. Hope this helps.
