Niobe

How come my Niobe opens the color I want and then turns purple?See the ones on the bottom ,they just opened,and they're red,then they turn purple.WHY?

I dont know why that happens, but it is stunning!

I want you to know, you are not alone, mine does the same thing, in the picture last year, bottom ones are red and ones on top have purple tinge, not like the picture they showed where I bought it from(Wayside Gardens), they were ALL red!

The top ones were all red,beautiful,then ,a day or 2 later...purple......I want a red one that stays...RED

CC, mine looks similar, but more washed out. They never do start out red. I was totally disappointed in mine, but it does bloom a lot. Wish I could help you, but looks like I need more help than you do with this one. I'll probably tear it out one day and put something else in its place. I just don't like it. Like you, I'd like to have a red that stays red.
