I noticed several leaves on my Sea Holly had eaten holes like lace. I looked on the back of the leaves and there are alot of little tiny black bugs...they look like - - - that moving around. What are these? I used Spectricide on them. Thanks!
Little black bugs.???
Flea beetles?
Hey Calla,
What are flea beetles? Will Spectricide do them in?
Dale, they are not really fleas, but jump when disturbed and eat things in the solanacae(spelling) family. This includes eggplant which they are famous for destroying. They make holes all over the leaf and really damage the plants. I use pyrethrum for them, but spectracide should do the trick. Sometimes you can keep them off by sprinkling plain flour on the leaves.
