This site lists many shrubs and trees and how to propagate them. It is the best info I have come across to date. Please check it out because you will be so glad you did.

I finally ended up just sticking that Aucuba directly in the ground. They are, of course, still green.

I think the State of Iowa has an excellent site for their horitculture division of their Coopertive Extension services. That's the same state where Karen Strohbeen does her show on the perennial garden. Even the NC extension service recommended it to me. I'm sure you can find the url through Google.com
