How difficult is it to cut a mirror?

I have cut glass for picture frames before but we have a big broken mirror that needs to be cut off at the top about 2 inches down because of a broken corner. It is very thick and I don't think it can be scored and cut like regular glass. Does anyone have any experience with this?
