need instructions on DOS

I hate DOS. but I need to copy some files. best choice would be to move them from drive C to drive D. Second choice, copy to A drive.
Now, after you tell me that, :) then tell me this. I know the path up until C:/PROGRA~1/MSOFFI~1/ (whatever)
but then say the file I want is tomato~1 xls How do I put that in the path to copy?
your help and patience is appreciated.
