Pond Leaves

Sharpsville, PA(Zone 5a)

Would it be a 'good thing" to put all my leaves I took from my pond over the winter and put them in the garden?

I put all the gunk that comes from the pond into the compost pile. especially the hyacinths and stuff. if I do a partial water change, I use that water on my plants too.

I guess I should of checked her FIRST ...before draining. I scooted the water sorta around the plants. Didn;t know for sure. plus . was afraid of 125gallons giving some one soggy roots. Stil have the leaves though!

When we did a complete pond draining two seasons ago, we hauled some of the excess water to my compost bins and soaked the composting "stuff" good. (The material was pretty dry, and I figured the pond water wouldn't hurt.) I don't know for sure that it was the pond water, but soon afterwards, the piles heated up and cooked good :)

oh! Will have to make notes of all this and keep in in mind for next time.....
