What variety is that?

It's an unknown variety that was given to me about 15 years ago. The woman who gave it to me said it's been in her family for at least 4 generations (east Tennessee).

Hi GrannyLois, is that daylily MUCH earlier than any others? Here in NJ the first would always be the species daylilies, first Dumortieri, then lemon lily (flava). Dumort's daylily has BROWN markings onthe outside, where yours look a little more red. Lemon lily is just pure lemon-yellow. Another early one could be H. minor, again, just small yellow blooms. Is the foliage narrow and grasslike, a small plant? Before the rain was the flower more golden? Thanks, John
