Is there a solution?

Brooksville, FL(Zone 9a)

Stepping outside this am I felt a tugging on my pants leg! Looked down on several black with yellow striped grasshoppers around 3 inches long trying to drag me away! Do I shoot em? Step on em? What to do? I checked my poor Gardenia bush and they certainly have been feeding well. Several other plants in the same area have been devoured. Locals say kill em individually! Anything I can use to get em out in the open for a fair fight?

Thanks in advance Bob

What a neat link! That was fun reading!

The second link made mention of molasses in water! I had heard soap and water but will try the molasses. In addition took out my old size 13 boots and tomorrow is "Smack Em Day! Placed signs out there for them regarding the "sweet drink meeting" to be held at noon!
Thanks MaVie
