The Cuckoo comes in April
and sings his song in May
in June he changes his tune
and in July he flys away
Cuckoo rhyme
:)
Kukko tulee huhtikuussa
ja laulaa laulunsa toukokuussa
Kesäkuussa hän laulunsa vaihtaa
ja Heinäkuussa hän lentää pois
;)
is that the translation? you language has many double letter As, Ss and Us.
Mark
yep.. We have no prepositions, so easier to write everything in 'bigger packets'.
I'm going to show how stoopid I am by asking what is a prepostion?
Mark
If I remember right (hehehe) they are the little words like in, to, from, under, behind, in front of, etc.. :)
An example:
mark went to forest looking if there were any Hepaticas behind the big rock. There was no hepaticas, only a little cuckoo nest under the fern leaf. (ok what a great story I am making)
mark meni metsään katsomaan jos siellä olisi ollut yhtään sinivuokkoja ison kiven takana. Sinivuokkoja sieltä ei löytynyt, vain pieni kukon pesä saniaisen lehden alla.
Well, cuckoo was singing his tune (it being May) in my garden this morning. No sleep possible after that - it was LOUD!!
BTW Evert, can you describe the cuckoo nest you found in your story please? None of us have ever seen one *g*
Philomel, use your imagination =)
What do you think i was doing? Just wanted to find out how good yours was.
;)
I think it's a nest you'd have to use your imagination for!
Mark that rhyme brought back a memory.
I heard a very similar rhyme when I was 16 and on my YTS appreticeship, it was the old chap (one of my bosses at the time) who recited it for me and thought me a bit of a dunce for not knowing it LOL.
