heard my first Cuckoo today. It's been a long time from I heard one in my area.
Blackcaps Chiffchaffs and Willow Warblers are singing strongly right now.
I also say 4 pairs of Bullies stripping a wild cherry of buds today.

The cuckoos have been calling round Della's for a week now, and i've been hearing plenty of chiffchaff's, willow warblers and blackcaps too. But i'd love to see some bullfinches. They used to be really common in Kent but the orchard owners waged war (probably understandably) and i don't see them round here now, though i think there still seem to be plenty in the west of the county.
Mark and Philomel..you are lucky! I usually hear them the first week of May,but for the last 2 years,I haven't heard any!
Heard the first turtle doves of summer today - just love them! (and a cuckoo)
