SPATTERDOCK SEED GERMINATION

Muncy, PA(Zone 5a)

I have some spatterdock seed that I am trying to germinate. Anyone have any info on how to do it. I nicked the seed and have it very wet soil and bottom heat.
As far as I know, spatterdock is similiar to water lilies, except the leaves curl up a bit and only flower in yellow. I have had them in the water for almost a month and nothing is going on. Thanks for any help on this.

Lorie, do you mean nicked as in put a dent in them, or nicked, as took without owners consent, lol, i have never grown these, but i have tried water lilly from seed several times, but never been successful, it will interesting to see if anyone does have the know how.

Alan,
The seeds have a small point on the end and I snapped it off with the nail clippers. Wish these were as easy as lotus seed.

Lorie, i thought thats what you meant, lol, it has a whole different meaning here, "knicked" generaly means its been stolen over here, i hope you get good help with this one, maybe i can use the same principle on the lilly seeds.

Alan.
