fasciated willow

I saw this willow today while out walking. although it was distorted there was someing nice about it. maybe it's just me.

That's weird looking, but, as you say, something nice about it. Colour and texture for a start :)

Thanks Mark :) Not sure (that makes a change lol). It would probably grow rather large, and most willows like damp feet (no paddling in my garden, unfortunately). What species is it?

this plant is no more than just above head height. as to the species I havent got a clue. It doesnt need damp ground either as it is out in the open in grass.

Mark, I just realised that 'fasciation' wasn't in the Gardenology definitions, so have added it. Your photo would be a superb illustration, when you've got a minute (pleeease :-))
