Does anyone else here dumpster dive?

Hughesville, MO(Zone 5a)

We do this regularly and feel it is a ministry GOD has given us. We help feed several other families and we eat a LOT more fresh fruits and veggies than we use to eat when we had to buy them. We can't even give away or use anywhere near all the food there is out there for the taking. Our compost pile has much more variety in it now than it ever did before.
We also find many good usable items just driving around town. One store threw away enough bird seed and sunflower seeds for us to feed dozens of wild birds all winter. And we take items from the recycling centers as well as to them. We've found clothing, trinkets, nice cookie/candy cans, discarded flower pots, a good tho scratched bowling ball, lots of handy buckets(many in grocery store dumpsters with delis with enough cake icing left in them to do a cake), part containers of household cleaners and laundry detergent, good size pieces of floor covering and even left over paneling and peg board. The list is almost endless. It's a great way to live pretty well on a shoestring.
