Recycle a broken push broom

Lorain, OH(Zone 5b)

Yesterday at work the push broom broke in half, right where the handle fits in. The broom is natural bristles in a wood head. The guys were going to throw it away but I realized that it would make a great mud scuffer for my shoes/boots. I made a frame from a piece of 2X2 scrap wood and then nailed the two broken halfs into it, side by side & bristles up. Works great. I'll use the broom handle and some scrap PVC pipe to make my sister a tangle-free flag pole. And best of all...... nothing goes to the landfill :)
