About all I can tell you is that it is in the family Noctuidae (owlet moths). Without being able to see the entire specimen, I am hesitant to attempt a more specific i.d. as there are several species that can have a similar color pattern. That aside, it does look a lot like the example of Schinia lynx in my copy of the Owlet Caterpillars of Eastern North America (its range includes Texas).
