Hi! I am reluctant to buy Freesia seeds, as online instructions say they need bright light, which I don't have in our house. Is it possible to keep them alive other ways? One way I thought of, is to put roots of freesia in moist soil in a jar with a cover on so that it's self-watering. Has anyone tried this method of overwintering tender plants?
What ways are there for overwintering freesia?

Feed plants and flowers
every two months during the growing season but suspend fertilizer in fall.
Freesias are grown from corms, which are similar in needs to bulbs. It would take several years to grow freesias to bloom from seed regardless of culture. The most amazing freesias I've ever seen were at the Aalsmeer Flower Auction in Holland where the world's florists buy flowering bulbs.
