Don't know whats going on, but no one can post anything, without clicking on quote, then edit.
Praying you can get this fixed soon.

I have been unimpressed with this site for some years, but at the moment it is a total shambles. A couple of school kids could do a better job. Do you never test anything before releasing it? Why are you doing loads more security checks than any of my banking websites? Please sort things out.

It does seem like with each so called update there is a big snafu. I too would like to know why these things are done without testing. What is DG going to do to make this right with paid subscribers?

Castro Valley, CA

The coup de grâce!
Not 1 update in the last 6 years has done any kind of improvement. They are "fixing" things that do not even need to be fixed. They should restore the site back to it was 6 years ago and never touch it again. They could not kill a site any better if they had been trying to. DG itself is a shadow of its former self, Every "update" takes away some functionality of the site to its users.

PlantFiles is a sheer disaster, I could write pages on how much it now is ruined. It actually is funny that the coup de grâce is where they "fix" the site by not allowing any of the users to interact about nothing on an interactive site. LOL

Look, they fixed "botanary" when they took away the ability to post from everybody.
"The Botanary Section is Back! Visit Botanary"

Who cares about "botanary"?????? Whoever had even had been there? Were they overwhelmed with members begging for them to revamp it? Did they even have 1 member? I am never going to click on Bortanary, so how do I know it now is so screwed up it is unusable for whatever purpose it originally had. Guess how. The only excuse I could think of is someone must be getting paid for each "update" so "update" they do or don't in this case.

PS WOW Elsie, you are so impressive!!!

Yes, what ZilyZily said!! So comparing the use of posting versus botonary - which do you think we paid subscribers want more? Yes that would be posting. So how about someone share with we subscribers when this will be fixed - please. I don't think it needs to be rolled out. It needs to be restored - even at the expense of the botonary.

I would love to know what is going on with Daves Garden. It's been over two weeks and no update or any info whatsoever about when this no posting issue will be resolved. I sent a dmail to DG on February 1 with no reply. I contacted someone through the contact option - again no reply. I asked a question on DG's FB page and was told hopefully this week.

I see the banner regarding the rolling out is gone. So what is going on? This is a horrendous way to treat your paid and unpaid subscribers. I don't think just having something called the Botanary was something that should be replacing posting. How about someone actually give us all an actual update on what is going on with Daves Garden.

Monroe, WI(Zone 4b)

What is botonary??

Please get this mess straightened out so we can post again. It’s pretty inexcusable that this had gone on as long as it has.

Jim Falls, WI(Zone 4a)

I totally agree with the 3 posters above me! Who care's about botonary! We want to be able to post without having to quote and all that other crap! People just can't leave anything alone that is working! That is not the way to treat your customers shall we say. 2 weeks is too long for a fix and I bet it didn't take that long to wreck it! No thank you from ves522

We can all go to DG on Facebook and post comments for free. Maybe the revenue from paying subscribers isn't enough to inspire them to fix it. So let's not pay them anymore.

Castro Valley, CA

Have you seen where 3 spammers signed up here in the last 3 days and then immediately posted their spam with evidently no problem? How did they even know Elsie's backdoor fix so you can post? So weird!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! https://davesgarden.com/community/forums/t/1562482/

ZilyZily, someone else had done the work around with the quote so it must have been with them.

I am really getting ticked off about this. I have posted here, sent a dmail, posted on DG's FB page and was told this week it would be fixed. Today I sent a message to Internet Brands - who is the owner of Dg. I used their contact link on their page. I am guessing they have never heard of excellence in customer service.

Sheffield, United Kingdom(Zone 8a)

I am absolutely appalled at the incompetence and unprofessionalism of this site at the moment and also over the past few years. In my career as a development manager I would have been sacked it I released software with the bugs which the DG site currently has. You are clearly not testing things prior to release. The site has been deteriorating over several years. I will not be renewing my subscription.

waukesha, WI(Zone 5a)

Guess Internet Brands never heard the adage "If it ain't broke don't fix it.".

Thank you for fixing DG. It took way too long, but I am glad it's finally working.

Castro Valley, CA

I click on random ones to report….and nothing happens…oh well

Teacup754, how do you click on a post to report it? I copied the and pasted the page link and went to the bottom of a page and reported it on the contact link.

I too don't know why this is happening.

Castro Valley, CA

It is happening because these people are all related and word has gone out this website is dead so they can post as many spam threads as they want. They get paid for each one. There is no administration on Dave's Garden to stop them and delete them. Have you ever been on a website where the Admin has absolutely no interest in the website they are in charge of?

IBtyen is the admin here and he started this thread so for sure each time one of us post he is notified but does not even care enough to read whet is being written back to him.

But the good news is, finally all of us can get ourselves a call girl. Though the bad news is we have to go far, far away to get her. We could all go on a trip to or India or Pakistan or Russia or Dubai, . There are 49 spam threads on Accessible Gardening just from today promising call girls from each far away country.

Castro Valley, CA

Thank God, just when I was afraid we would not have enough call girls, I found another 49 spam ads for them on Ask-a-Dave's-Gardener Discussion Forum.. But this time we have young ones to rent, gorgeous ones, even cheeky ones though I am afraid to ask what cheeky means, enduring passion ones, and even enchanting ones.

Castro Valley, CA

Oh look mahiii1q has advertised his escorts on.INVASIVE PLANTS!

ZilyZily, while I agree with you posting on this thread is not going to help. This thread is about an update last year. Maybe instead of posting here you can actually post to the contact link that there is a problem. I did get some removed and Melody got back to me today. I am trying to help.

I just click on the little flag at the bottom of the post on the left hand side. It asks if I really want to report and I answer yes..
Of course nothing seems to come of it. This is one of the reasons I don’t pay for yearly membership anymore. Most of the forums have no activity.

los angeles, CA

Sorry for all the site issues! We are doing our best to roll out hot fixes since the latest guides release (which introduced most of the bugs)

We will also be implementing additional spam prevention methods to battle the recent spam attacks.

The best method of reporting site issues would be to by using the contact link below OR by directly emailing me at admin@davesgarden.com

Thank you so much Tyson!!

Vossner, Tyson just posted his email address or advised we use the contact link at the bottom of the page.

Is anyone else having trouble getting into the Plant Identification Forum? Ever since the fix was in to fix posting on all the forums was fixed, I have been unable to get into the Plant ID Forum. It comes up that it is not there.

Frisco, TX(Zone 8a)

I can’t access it. I also cannot access the Roses forum. It was saved as one f my favorites but can’t get into it. Not that it matters because it is pretty inactive

Sheffield, United Kingdom(Zone 8a)

Can't get into Plant Identification. Can get into Cacti & Succulents and European Gardening.

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Praying we all get an extended time on our subscription, seeing how we still can't us DG like we should be able to.

los angeles, CA

Where does it say I don't work on the site? I think you are the second person to say this and I can't seem to figure out what's giving that impression.

Tyson may I suggest that the two pinned threads here be unpinned. Then create a new thread for spam and issues after the February update.

los angeles, CA

Great suggestion. I have created a new thread regarding bugs found after the February release
