Need identification please

This insect appeared all over my Sweet Autumn Clematis in the last two weeks. Can anyone ID it?

At first I thought it might be some kind of scale insect, but I googled your image and came up with this. https://bugguide.net/node/view/524924 🤔 Are they devouring the leaves and leaving honeydew behind? That would be scale. It's much better to have lady beetles.

Those are empty 'shells' of lady beetle pupae; most likely the Asian many-colored lady beetle, Harmonia axyridis - https://www.jungledragon.com/image/92056/multicolored_asian_lady_beetle_pupa_-_harmonia_axyridis.html
