Any ideas what this might be on a container-growing Acorus or sweet flag (we think); it's a common filler plant in containers and the closest ID I can come up with.
Appeared overnight and is sticky and engaging the entire clump at the base. It reminds me of 'dog vomit slime mold,' (yes that is a thing), but the plant is tolerant of wet conditions and isn't overwatered anyway. Ideas? TYIA
Slime mold or ???
