Thanks for the new room Betty.
Pat, with so many in your home, they can't help get your laundry done?
Please take care.

(Pat) Kennewick, WA(Zone 5b)

LInda, if I ASKED, someone, they might, they would NEVER think of it. Frankly I would rather they not touch my laundry.
ONE, I don't want them touching anything that might give them exposure to Covid.
TWO, I wipe out the washing machine before I start a load, because of all the dog hair they leave behind. You can bet they don't!!

Maryville, TN(Zone 7a)

Linda, so glad Todd is doing better at home. Sure hope that trend continues.

Pat, I'm too picky about my laundry to ever let anyone else do it. My own fault. We also have the dog hair thing going on here so I feel the Machines need cleaning first every time. Especially after Brody doing his as the dog sleeps in his room...in his bed.

Las Vegas, NV(Zone 9a)

I am resting today. We have decided to finish the rest of the landscape on the rental when the kids get here. They are much younger than us and can help. The inside is coming together. I worked Thursday, Friday ad Saturday on my own courtyard. It is currently totally torn up but will be great by the end of tomorrow. Have had an irrigation problem but I think it is fixed.

Linda, I am so pleased Todd is back and getting better. I got a shower chair for Vern and he loved his morning shower. Made it easier on me but we did have a walk in shower.

Pat, when my daughter had Covid, her DH kept a real close eye on her and her breathing. He didn't go to work until he was assured in his mind that she was going to be OK. She is never sick and she was really sick. She was ill for close to 12 days.

Pat explaining DGD selling their condo. Her DH is still i medical school and they have 2 children. 2 and 6 months. Their condo is 2 bedroom, 1 bath and very small. Has been great for the first 3 years of medical school but they need more space and he will probably do his residency there so they will be purchasing a home. She works remotely for Adobe

Las Vegas, NV(Zone 9a)

I got interrupted and could not finish.

Betty, you did a delightful job of decorating your graves and the other individuals that had no one. I hope you had a good nap and are feeling better.

Karen, good luck on your sale. Quite nerve wracking to keep everything for showings. And moving is another story. I started to get ready to move and that last one week. I decided not to move and just pretend I had a one story home.

(Pat) Kennewick, WA(Zone 5b)

Sharon, whether you ever move or not, you will be glad you "down sized" the possessions.
Karen, YOU KNOW exactly what I mean!!!

Victoria Harbour, ON

Morning everyone, will be 70 today although this morning one would never believe it, but i am attaching a photo of this weeks weather, will be hot.

Hope you hear about help for Todd Lindakay and that Todd slept well and will eat a good breakfast, it goes without saying hooe you did as well and you are also eating regular meals.

Had to smile Sharon when you said the young ones can finish, we always think we can do much better and want things ready for when they arrive..bet you are anxious for their arrival…How are your gardens?

Did they ever find out who was in the neighbourhood doing damage and steeling?

As i don’t plan on moving unless they take me out in a box i will leave all this mess for the boys lol

Fighting a headache last few days, don’t like my new glasses, bought them a Christmas & wore them once but this morning I decided to wear them and see because I’m doing a lot of reading and work with stained glass so it might help.

As for washing, I am fussy as well, not a day goes by that I wash, a regular routine, get out of bed, run the bath, put coffee on, make my bed, put a load of wash on..same thing every morning..i am a creature of habit, but living alone in the house allows me to do that.

Pat, hope this morning you feel better, gaining more strength. Any news on the crew moving, getting closer to your deadline you gave the, but, it is nice to have someone in the house when you are ill. That is the only time I don’t like being alone, when i am I’ll.

Keep watching the time, i can hear some grass cutting, it’s 8 am so I’ll grab my mug of coffee and get grass cut, watering of gardens and feeding plants. I’ve been looking for a pattern for another stained glass piece, want to make some smaller pieces , all can’t be 18x20 - 20x24..i do have a beveled Xmas tree, goddaughter lives Christmas so maybe i will start with that one.

Best get a move on, i have to find a place for that beautiful glass leaf wind chime Brenda gave me on her visit Friday..here i am cutting so many limbs off trees, shrubs and now I’m looking for one to hand a wind chime on

Enjoy your morning..

Oops forgot this weeks weather chart

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

I wish I could have your weather Betty. Your high temperatures are our low temperatures for the night

Victoria Harbour, ON

Couldn’t take that much heat..
How is Todd
Cut grass, watered all the gardens, came in to grab a coffee, was freezing even though i had a coat on, should have put gloves on.. last of me to do’s is pick up about 2 wheel barrels full of limbs..Lordy can feel my fingers.

I’m hacking again, seems every time I’m out working i come in hacking.

Going to have raisin toast and hot chocolate and back outside. i brought my binder of previously made stained glass pieces so i should be done by noon and can relax doing them

Victoria Harbour, ON

Done chores, still hasn’t warmed up so taking a fiesta, well resting if not dozing off. Thinking of spending the afternoon going back through Hundreds of threads and making note of who i gave what to..found this work sheet, know i made it before but for who? Maybe the posts will tell me.

Hung my new windchime

I am glad to hear Todd continues to improve.
I know Adam is paying attention to the deadline. In addition to his full-time work, he is doing plasma.
I am grateful that I have a neighbor boy who I pay $10 to mow my tiny yard. My side does not grow very thick, and I COULD mow it myself, if my shoulder did not object so much to starting the mower.

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Beautiful wind chimes and gardens Betty.
I am glad he is showing improvement too, considering the doctors told us with all his vitals low when he arrived at the ER, he shouldn't have had a heartbeat. He is doing good, still eating real food. Not thst hospital liquid diet that has no taste.
I thank God daily for allowing him to be well enough to come home.
We will have to put the word out to look for someone to come and cut our grass, until Todd is strong enough to do it himself.

Victoria Harbour, ON

Glad Pat he is trying his best… know all about the mowing, i am ok now with rider but can’t do the ditch trimming..i pay $20 to have it done every 2 weeks..i have the tools but it would do my shoulder in.

Lindakay it’s so nice to hear Todd is doing so well..think sometimes their diet restriction goes against gaining strength and nutrition needed.. Better care at home, nobody waking and priding every 1/2 hour..nothing like your own home for healing..

I am fighting to keep my mouth shut, so hard to do

Sharon called me, apparently Brian was at mom’s cutting her grass this morning, he went to Sobieski for a few things and paid at same teller mom has been friends with for forever..she told Brian that mom was there yesterday crying that her children are forcing her to sell against her will NOT, the want to put her in a home and take her money NOT.. she asks for help and nobody will help NOT..nobody phones her except for $$$ NOT

She spoke to Sharon Saturday and said she would like to come upbut because she was here for 2 weeks I don’t want her to NOT

Grrrr

Maryville, TN(Zone 7a)

Oh Betty, I so went through all that and more. We were also changing her meds and giving her drugs so she wouldn't smoke. She really liked the hospice nurse who told her if she didn't stop saying things like that she wouldn't come any more. It got a bit better. Not helping that sis who wasn't there was telling people we were over dosing her on morphine to hurry her along.
The joys of it all.

Victoria Harbour, ON

Not quite as bad as what you experienced..so sad
I would hate to think people believe her but she knows how to turn on the charm with strangers
Hurts when we try so hard

(Pat) Kennewick, WA(Zone 5b)

YEP, and that's why when others would say "Where is the family?" (this poor soul has NO one....), I would reply "YOU don't know what she/he/they have put them thru and we should NOT judge!" With the mentally ill & the personality disordered people, what their family has experienced is pure torture!! (and then get blamed for "not being there for them!" or all their other lies)

I've had to talk to Adult Protective Service and defend the caregivers. It's always "fun" when I invite a social worker in for a witness and have the "victim" give their side of the story and prove by the hospitals own records the lies that are being said. "She just dumped me off at the hospital and said she would NEVER come back for me." (REALLY? Hospital records show that the sheriff brought the "victim" in because the "victim attacked her daughter! and the daughters the one with the bruises! )

Yea, call me cynical or jaded, but I like to see a few FACTS before making a judgement! If the bank teller was sharing that with Brian, I think the bank at least suspects the truth! Falsely accusing someone of crimes is about the lowest thing a person can do. It undermines the confidence of the system for those that are truly abused.

I sure don't miss that about my job. NOT at all.

Verona, ON

Lovely day here. WLs say rain is to move in overnight. You too Betty ?

LK I am so happy to read how well Todd is doing at home. Sending positive thoughts and prayers for continued healing. Nothing like your own bed and food made by your loved one.

Chaos had his yearly vet visit today. They told me to be there for 4 pm sharp so I made sure I was there in plenty of time. At 4:40 we were still sitting in the Escape. Finally got home around 6 pm. The vet is just so busy and doesn't rush anyone which I appreciate. Sure wish a vet would move into my area.

Deb I watched Westminister yesterday. I was glad to see they have introduced the All American type. Are you able to move without pain now ?

Stay safe, well and happy.

northeast, IL(Zone 5a)

Went to the doctor yesterday. I have a torn hamstring. No shows for a while. I go back in 2 weeks, then maybe start physical therapy after that.

AKC has been allowing mixed breeds to compete in performance events for several years now.

Verona, ON

Ouch Deb !!! Will you be able to work or do you still work from home ? I haven't watched Westminister for a few years and didn't know about the All American.

Threatening sky out there and it just feels like rain.

LK how are things with you and Todd ?

BBL

Victoria Harbour, ON

Morning, I was out watering about 6:30am and like you Dianne it felt like rain but seems to be clearing but wind is getting stronger which will be a plus if it reaches temps it’s calling for.

Happy Birthday Liz, will you be doing anything special..don’t you think employers should all give employees the day off..know Melanie’s firm does. Maybe you can pack a lunch and go sit on the beach..wouldn’t that be wonderful.

Deb, doubtful you will be able to go to work as you will have difficulty getting around? Can see why you won’t be personally showing but do you have a friend who would?
Have you ever competed at Westminster?

Sharon hasn’t been back to compete since Covid started because border was closed..perhaps next year..wasn’t it closer to Xmas before? Inuk turned 15 yesterday.

How are things going Lindakay? Is Todd gaining strength..he was still working right?

My morning chores are done, might go and do some gardening before heat of the day.
Girls aren’t coming today seeing Pat is still fighting the cold and now her hubby has it. I messaged June and as I was up part of the night with sweats (had a bowl of ice cream at 2am to cool me off) I thought maybe June shouldn’t come.

Karen, any more view8ngs?

Ted next door is bored, he keeps making and painting little wood dogs, cats and chickens, places them in my yard..hate to tell him after his kindness that I really don’t want them..big sigh.

The community is celebrating Canada Day this weekend, will be first in 3 years..music starts Friday afternoon and goes right through to Sunday evening the community center is basically in my back yard soooo lots of sounds, thankfully I like the bands.

Looking at the clock, think I will call Templeton glass to see if they have update on my front window, most exciting part of my day will be a trip to the pharmacy.

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Sounds like everyone is busy.
Happy birthday Liz. Hope you have an amazing day.
Deb, sorry to hear about your injury. Praying it heals quickly.
Todd is slowly improving everyday. But for some reason he can't sleep at night. He gets up about 9, and is up all day, but just can't get to a sound sleep at bedtime.
Todd retired last October. Almost 40 years of active duty in the air force, and civil service.

Victoria Harbour, ON

Guess doctor doesn’t want to prescribe sleeping pills seeing he is just starting to feel better but no sleep is zapping some of his energy. Here is hoping he can have cat naps throughout the day to compensate. Good thing he is retired, men seem to fight to get back to work, with being retired that takes one more worry away. Is he able to sit outside a bit or is it too hot and humid?

I’m just laying on the couch so going to force myself into working on garden where they will trample when they put window in, they have no idea how much longer but will check so I might as well do some work in it as it may be in the fall before it’s done.

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Yes, he sits on the front porch in thr morning, before it gets too hot. He loves watching the hummingbirds with me.

(Pat) Kennewick, WA(Zone 5b)

happy birthday! I hope you have a good one.

Deb, scary to think a misstep can do that kind of damage. I hope it heals rapidly for you.

Happy to hear Todd is getting better. I'd get more sleep if the telemarketers would leave me alone. I guess I will have to shut my phone OFF.

Victoria Harbour, ON

Was 94F° with a feel like 101F0°..hate to think what your weather is today..think I’d rather have snow..imagine me saying that.

Pat, my telemarketers have a number above their number which is a warning it’s a telemarketer but that does not help you as each call wakes you. Could you not shut phone off, if it were an emergency they could contact you by messenger.
You don’t sound as though you are getting better, are you taking meds and seen a doctor?

Deb, are you home resting, do you have therapy scheduled?

How about you Lindakay, do you, do have appointments Re help?
Is Todd feeling better today?

Watered gardens first thing this morning then picked up my meds and that is all I did today, rest of the day watched t.v. And I scrolled through 2006 i believe and 2007/2008..Herbie who always started the day with humour, , Barb, Sharran posts and many other friends..think of them often..

Ziggy went out about 1/2 hr ago, I should go call him in..surprised that he isn’t clawing at the door.

Although Marie/Ted brought over a container of stew this morning I had already taken out hamburger patties so decided to have hamburgers instead.

Started another Xmas gift..should take long to do

Beautiful tree Betty.
Today we had to go to local hospital for lab work. Tomorrow we drive back to San Antonio to see 2 different doctors for follow up. We need to leave here by 5:30, for first appointment at 9:30. 2nd one is at 2:30. Then back home again. Going to be a long day.

Victoria Harbour, ON

Wow, that is a long day for him, couldn’t you do virtual? You having to do all the driving 8n 9ne day will be difficult or will you stay with your son overnight.

They are still doing virtual appointments here and I think even once the scare of Covid has ended they will continue to do it that way.

Was talking to Marlene yesterday, she and I have about the same problems, think if we exchange medical files nobody would know the difference, anyway she said the specialist office called her and she sees doctor Harris in the city next May, my doctor referred me I think 2 weeks after her so there goes think8mg I will see him this year..

northeast, IL(Zone 5a)

I'm still working in the office. I can walk, sitting hurts like heck, but, I can do about a half hour at a time before I need to get up and move around. I go back to the doctor in 2 weeks, then he'll decide if I need therapy. If he doesn't prescribe it, I'll have to figure out what works best for this, so I can get back to showing my dogs. Neither of the boys are really ready, they both need to mature a bit before they'll be competitive, but, I like to keep them out, just so they don't forget.

Love the tree, Betty.

So glad to hear things are going well LindaKay.

(Pat) Kennewick, WA(Zone 5b)

It will be good to get a professional update on Todd's progress tomorrow.

I may not really have a choice but shut off the phone if I want better sleep. I will need to tell Marie, I don't want her to panic.

I am getting better, it's just slow. I am taking decongestions & other meds to reduce the mucus ( potential for ear infections, always a risk for me) I sincerely doubt I would be contagious at this point but very tired. .

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Todd had to have a drain tube in his lower back, to drain excess fluid that was building up in his abdomen. Some of the fluids was feces, as he was having a bad time swallowing, and was vomiting a lot. Dr thinks he popped the stitches at the top of his colon where he had to separate the intestines for the colostomy bag. That feces was draining inside him. He has been on strong antibiotics for 2 weeks to keep him from getting sepsis. Nothing has drained from it for a week now, so I am sure it is fine. That tube gets removed tomorrow.

Maryville, TN(Zone 7a)

On the road tomorrow. So excited to see Brendon and Alicia. Of course will also see just about everyone else at some point. So ready for hugs.
Had another showing today. Would be just about perfect if house would sell and we would find one we love up there in this trip. Think I'm day dreaming.
Linda sure hope your trip tomorrow isn't too hard on Todd. And you for that matter.
Pat hope you are feeling much better soon.
Betty, sure wish you could get the care you need.

Las Vegas, NV(Zone 9a)

Linda, Todd is lucky to be alive. Wow, I am just shocked how many thigs that coukd go wrong, went wrong.

Happy Birthday Deb. Pulled Ham String is very painful. Body is so funny. You can do the same thing over and over an then one day ban, and you get hurt by doing the same thing you have been doing for years.

My sweet dog Emma got into a bag of turkey jerky. It was in my pantry and the door was left open. She is on my list for no more food today. I had a board meeting tonight for the HOA via zoom. I have not had dinner but I did have some chicken soup for lunch so I will not starve. Courtyard redo of irrigation was just about complete until I wanted to see why plants in zone 4 were so dry. We had been working on zone 6 for 3 days. Turned it on and from way down under cam a large amount of bubbling water. I thought my garden helper was going to cry. We turned that station off and said we would visit that problem on Thursday.

Betty, our temp was around 104 and not a cloud or a breeze anywhere near. My tomatoes are a hit in the neighborhood. Second set of figs will be ripe anytime soon and I have several neighbors that love figs. My lettuce has bolted. Potatoes have not folwered yet, so, so far so good on the potatoes.

DGD sale of condo fell through because dogs are not allowed ad thy had a dog. Thy are in Salt Lake this week because her sweet hubby parents are leaving for a 3 yea mission to Spain. Then they are headed back to St Louis and are having an open house this weekend.

Pat, my daughter took forever to get well but never tested. She just stayed away from everyone and her DH did not go to work to take care of her and not spread any more.

Karen, have a wonderful trip. You could at least look around and determine what area you would like to live in.

Bedtime has snuck up on me. Goodnight and I will check in tomorrow.

(Pat) Kennewick, WA(Zone 5b)

Sharon, what a disappointment for the sale failure, rats!

Deb, the boy you recently showed, how old is he? How is your litter doing? I know you lost one, I could not remember if the litter was 3 or just 2.

Karen, here's praying your buyer comes thru quickly and you can find what you are looking for quickly as well.

WOW Linda, that is scary. I am hoping they are well on their way to fixing all of Todd's issues, poor guy!

Maire is already testing negative; I likely will test Friday to be sure for myself I have been asked to give a talk on Sunday and want to be sure I'll clear to leave the house.

northeast, IL(Zone 5a)

Pat, my boys are 14 months old.

(Pat) Kennewick, WA(Zone 5b)

14 months, gosh it does not seem that long ago!

northeast, IL(Zone 5a)

Happy Birthday, Pat!! Hope you're having a great day celebrating!!

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Happy birthday Pat. Hope you had an amazing day.

We are home. Left at 6 this morning, got home at 6 tonight.
Long day on the road and in doctor office. All good reports. Tube from his back has been removed. He just needs physical therapy and home health care to start coming in. He needs to get his strength back.

(Pat) Kennewick, WA(Zone 5b)

Thanks for the bday wishes.

GREAT news Linda! Let the healing begin & strengthening begin!
