CLOSED: Small black insect with silver back

Deer Park, TX

This little guy is less than half an inch. I can’t tell if it’s back is silver or possibly white.
I found it in my garden this evening. What is it and is it beneficial?

This looks like a chinch bug, Blissus leucopterus, a serious pest of plants in the grass family. See https://i.pinimg.com/originals/bb/d2/84/bbd2841bd4b944faf27b1973dc0d5c4e.jpg for an image and https://texasinsects.tamu.edu/chinch-bug/ for more information.
