sea oats growing in Michigan zone 5? in sand?

Which sea oats grows the best/perennial in sand near Lake Huron to stop sand erosion? I like the ones that grown in Florida in sand dunes, but need the hardiest for our area? Thanks liz 810.204.0035

My mother is in southeast MI, zone 5, and had to rip out all her northern sea oats (chasmanthium latifolium) because they were so prolific and self-seeding they threatened to overtake her garden. I grow them here in Maine, too, and can't imagine they won't do very well in your area, for what it's worth.

They're gorgeous, just very eager growers after the first year or two, so they might be perfect for what you need.
