I have several 10-15 ft diameter mounds of wood chips mixed with soil where large trees used to stand thanks to Hurricane Ida. It will take a couple of years for the wood to break down and then shrubs will be planted. I've successfully grown ornamental sweet potato vines on these nitrogen-sucking mounds before but would like something a bit showier.
Any suggestions for viable annuals, maybe pollinator-friendly that would do here? Any treatment, preparation suggestions for the mounds? Supplemental water is available. Zone 9, full sun.
