I assume this must be due to disease because all buds are affected. But as the photos show, the plants all look very good. The neighboring asters (photos) are blooming normally, so I can't blame the weather. No obvious leaf damage or fungus. These were divided in the spring and have grown vigorously. I have given them extra water this fall when they looked droopy. The plants have bloomed well for 5 years. Should I do a fungicide soil drench at some point? Diagnostic clues I should look for? Thanks for any tips!!
Aster flowers dry up before blooming
I'll be watching for info on this, too. I bought one marked half off a few days ago. Most of the buds were brown, so I deadheaded them, thinking more blooms would appear. Still hoping...
