CLOSED: Need ID for North Texas insect

Richardson, TX

I need help identifying this insect found in Plano TX, zip 75074. It kind of looks like a fly but also a bee. I'm stumped by the furry body with black stripes and red wings.
Thanks!

Appropriately enough, it's a bee fly (family Bombyliidae); namely Poecilanthrax lucifer. See https://beetlesinthebush.com/2016/12/14/the-black-bringer-of-light/

Interesting, I never knew there was a bee fly. Great article, thanks so much!
