A couple weeks ago I bought a pot of lemon balm, and finally had time to separate the plants and pot them up. As I did so I noticed that on the underside of one leaf there are thread-like filaments - stiff enough to stand out when I turned the leaf to get a picture - each with a tiny white ball on the end. I am still getting the hang of gardening in Florida after a lifetime in NY, so I could use an ID on this odd looking phenomena. Is it likely the eggs of some pest, that I should eliminate, or perhaps of some beneficial that I should leave be? Any help would be appreciated! I am central Gulf coast Florida Thanks in advance!
