Know any "Old Wives Tales"??

This is kinda like RoadRunner's post about "Weather" but the more I get to thinking there are soo many old wives tales out there...which ones do you know??
like, A stitch in time saves nine.
and A watched pot never boils.
and spare the rod spoil the child.
If you hear a hoot owl outside your window, just tie a knot in the bed sheet and it will go away!
