Honeysuckle vine problem

Dallastown, PA(Zone 6a)

My honeysuckle vine has been thriving the last few years. However, now it has this “stuff” on it and it seems to be slowly killing the plant. Do you know what this stuff is and if the plant can be saved? Thank you!

Those would be Aphids, and they are common pests on Honeysuckle.

Fortunately, they are not hard to discourage. Blasting them with a stream of water will knock many/most off the plant. Use of insecticidal soap/soapy water will kill more of them, if you prefer that method (I would do that as a follow up to the water blast).

Neither of those methods should cause much/any off target damage to your plant and animal environment.
