I am trying to identify the this dark blue bird with orange feet that makes a howling noise when it calls. It acts like a heron and loves to be near water, but doesn’t swim like a duck. The feathers on the back of its head are raised like a woodpecker. It has a very long beak. Any ideas?!?!?
I looked in my Audobon app and the closest that picture resembles is a Little Blue Heron. All except for orange feet.
