SOLVED: Please help ID this shrub with long woody vine and buds

Please could you identify this shrub or plant?
It has a long woody vine-like stalk, and green leaves with a bid of darkening, and new buds about to come out now.

A Clematis.
Post a picture of the flower when it opens, and we may be able to say the variety.

Wow, I had no idea - thank you.
It's so long and woody, but there has never been a frame there as far as I know.
I might need to looking into getting a frame for it so it can climb upwards and show off.
Too late now of course for pruning because of the buds.
I will wait until the buds open and post another picture.
