I was thinking of planting Peruvian Lilies (Alstroemeria), but this article gave me pause: https://www.jacksonville.com/article/20110312/ENTERTAINMENT/801255544
It claims that Alstroemeria are uncontrollable weeds that's flowers turn muddy colored after a few years.

Have y'all had the same experience with them? I'm hoping it's a regional problem or something.
