Either a grass spider in the genus Agelenopsis or a wolf spider in the genus Rabidosa. Need to see the eye pattern.

See this article that explains how to identify wolf spiders https://theyardandgarden.com/how-to-get-rid-of-wolf-spiders/ it's actually an interesting read. One of the main tell-tale signs are two large eyes on top and four smaller eyes in a row below

Unfortunately, the eyes cannot be seen in the image provided by brownc. If they were visible, it would settle the issue.
