Maybe 15 years ago I planted a "red flowering" Witch Hazel However, there is only 1 small side branch of that and the rest of this rather large tree is probably it's root stock: yellow flowers on which the leaves turn gorgeous bright yellow in fall. Maybe 8 years ago it put out a seedling which I transplanted. Now also a large shrub, it blooms yellow in winter but it's leaves do not turn yellow in fall. They stay green, turn brown and most fall off. Any idea why it doesn't turn yellow. I'd like to have its fall color also.
