Seedlings question

Pomfret Center, CT(Zone 6a)

I have lupine seedlings and daylilly seedlings. Both they say won’t flower the first season which they didn’t. Am I better off to plant them in the ground now or keep in pots in an unheated greenhouse or bring them into my grow room in my basement for the winter?

Powder Springs, GA(Zone 7b)

I find that young plants often need a year of extra-care. I wouldn't take them indoors if they are hardy perennials but keeping them in a pot or even a cold frame (unheated greenhouse sounds good) might be good for the first year (or two). I have lost many a plant by taking a new nursery plant and putting them in the ground. I learned from my mistakes to treat very young plants like young children - pamper them for a while longer before they become rebellious teenagers.
