Jupiter and moons

Mysore, India(Zone 10a)

After my childhood friend who lives in W/DC mentioned that I can spot Jupiter's moons, I thought of a try.
Canon 550D with 55-250 lens. 1/8, f5.6, 800 ISO. This shot.
Highly cropped image. What I did was to slightly manually refocus after the auto focus did its job. Holding the button I did this so that the LCD screen showed a tiny dot and not the blur dot. This did the trick. I am delighted that 4 moons were in view!! Has anyone tried this? I know this lens I have will not help in seeing Saturn's rings. Both are visible clearly at this time, also Mars and Venus. Luckily we had a very clear night sky at the time I took this shot.
Second photo is again cropped and this is how it looks when it is unfocused.
